There’s nothing quite like a family photo session to freeze time and preserve the beautiful chaos, connection, and joy of your everyday life. I specialize in relaxed, natural family photography in South Wales – especially in and around Cardiff.

My approach is all about capturing the real moments – the laughter, cuddles, little hand-holds, wind-blown hair, and the way your toddler looks up at you with wonder. I believe the most meaningful photos come from letting you simply be yourselves. I’ll gently guide the session when needed, but mostly I’ll be documenting your connection in a relaxed, authentic way.

Choosing the Perfect Location

Cardiff and the surrounding South Wales area are full of stunning spots for family photography. Whether you love wild open fields, serene woodlands, rugged coastal views, or colourful city backdrops, I can help you find a location that suits your family's personality. Some local favourites include:

Roath Park – beautiful year-round with lake views and tree-lined paths.
Bute Park - a very popular location in the heart of Cardiff with beautiful castle views and lush greenery.
Barry Island Beach – fun, sandy, and great for barefoot giggles and beachy vibes.
Alexandra Gardens – This beautiful park has well-kept flower beds, and tall trees that creates a peaceful and quiet vibe.

When is the Best Time for a Family Photo Session?

Lighting is key to beautiful images, so I recommend shooting during golden hour – that’s shortly before sunset. If it's not possible I also recommend to do it before 12.30 noon.

If you have little ones, we can find a time that suits their routine while still capturing that golden glow when possible. I also shoot throughout the year – each season brings its own charm, from spring blossoms to autumn leaves.

Preparing for Your Session

Preparation is key to a successful photo session. Start by selecting outfits that coordinate but don’t overly match. I recommend to use soft pastels and earthy tones. For instance, a mix of light blues, whites, and soft yellows can create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

After the photo session, I will provide you with a private gallery where you can select your favorite photos for editing. Additional photos are available for purchase at £5 each.

Studio photo sessions:

Alternatively, if you're interested in a studio photoshoot, I offer this service at my home studio. I use white, black, and grey backdrops. Due to limited space, these sessions can accommodate up to two adults and two children.
